Minimax shows fire protection for logistics centers and hazardous materials warehouses

The Minimax “Expert Team Logistics” is the preferred partner for fire protection in logistics centers and must not be missed at LogiMAT.

With LiquidProtect, Minimax presents a VdS-approved sprinkler protection concept for hazardous materials warehouses. The concept is based on several modules interacting with each other. In the event of a fire, spilling fluid is deliberately directed to the rack aisles with the help of sloped rack stands and baffles installed in the racks. So-called fuel stops are embedded in the floor at regular intervals along the aisles, which collect the flammable fluid, preventing it from spreading along the aisles. Special sprinklers are placed near the fuel stops, ensuring early release and targeted distribution of the water-foam mixture into the aisles. Additional quick-release sprinklers distribute water and a special foam agent into the racks. This concept enables rapid, effective and localized firefighting, helping to keep fire damage and operational downtimes to a minimum.

The new corrosion-protected Fendium pipe system is suitable for high-rack warehouses. These polymer-enhanced steel pipes have a special polymer on both the inside and out to protect them against corrosion. Corrosion in standard pipes can lead to rough surfaces, encrustations and deposits which increase pipe friction and reduce the free cross-section of the pipes. This is a sustainable approach, because when used as intended, Fendium pipes have a significantly longer service life than standard pipes. The lower pipe friction makes it possible to use smaller nominal diameters or smaller pumps. The advantages include weight savings, easier installation and reduced space requirements.
