Furthermore, Minimax offers an alternative solution for use in engine rooms on ships and platforms – the MX 1230 marine extinguishing system with the proven and tested clean agent NovecTM 1230. As this extinguishing agent is neither corrosive nor electrically conductive, no damage can result in the engine room from short circuits or residue on sensitive components. This makes MX 1230 marine systems perfectly suited to effectively and carefully protect sensitive components.
The fixed Dry Powder fire extinguishing system is designed for fighting fires in the ondeck cargo areas of ships carrying liquefied gases in bulk (gas carriers) and in the area of gas fuel bunkering stations on board ships using gases as fuel. The system could be used as modular or multi zone system. Modular systems can be placed easily on deck and have no long pipe and pilot piping installations. For multi zone systems the required piping from the powder unit up to the monitors or hand hose lines could be up to 227m. The ambient storage temperature is up to -38,5 °C.
